About Me

My Story

My first love was interior design which I studied at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.  I went on to study drawing and color at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.  At first, I thought I wanted to make furniture, but while living in L.A. I took a class in stained glass and I was hooked!  My approach is one of the overall interior design of the room as well as the architectural aspects.

My Medium

My stained glass art panels are created in the traditional lead technique seen for centuries in churches and cathedrals.   Using a wide array of both handmade and manufactured glass in every conceivable color and texture, I’m constantly visualizing how natural light will illuminate the work… Should I use a rough wavy glass or a smooth texture, do I want it translucent or opaque?  I then meticulously hand cut each individual piece of glass, grind it and wrap it in malleable lead strips, then solder and cement to create my original custom designed interpretations.

My Inspiration

I am  inspired by Masters of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, and Cubist periods of Art:  Picasso, Matisse, O'Keeffe, Cézanne, Modigliani, Van Gogh.   With glass as my palette, I combine fine art and light to create unique glass art.  I would love to collaborate  and hear about your vision where I can bring together art, beauty and light to create glass art  to enhance your interior design.

I have been a glass artist for more than three decades.   My glass art pieces grace homes in NYC, Miami, Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Knoxville, West Palm Beach, The Berkshires, Scottsdale
